Musa's Letter of Apology

I am sorry.

I am sorry for the pain, the struggles, the hurt and the stress you had to go through to make ends meet for your sake and those of your family. You have worked HARD to get to where you are today and I am sorry for how you had to muscle your way through every obstacle life threw at you.

I am proud of you though.

I am proud that you have made it this far and have the unmatched skill and experience to go even further.

Even when you were up against the wall, you still kept swinging.

Even through the humiliation of your neighbours, friends, co-workers and even family members, you still held your head up high. I am still proud of the life changing decisions you have made and I applaud you for the extra-ordinary courage you summoned to step up to your call for change, and not allow life to have its way with you.

You knew YOU were in control, and that if you want things to change it was up to you to make it so.

It was your responsibility.

My heart bleeds for not siding with you from the beginning. My eyes were too young to see how YOUR heart bled in floods for the Titanic strength you had to sum up for you to leave that painful, painful lifestyle in favour of a better one.

But I see now you were in the hands of God all the time. You had guidance. And the way you came to rest your restless heart against His chest has made a miracle of a life for you. A miracle I am fortunate enough to be a part of.

You have brought me closer to God, as I continue to see the evidence of His work through you on a daily basis.

I see His “light” radiate through you even in your carriage as He continues to bless you with more and more strength and beauty to not only love others but, most importantly, love yourself.

He continues to do these and more through you with every jam He pulls you out off and what I am learning from you is how His relentless love – in blessing you with these game changers – is teaching me to TRUST more in Him.

OH, WHAT A WONDERFUL GOD YOU ARE!

I must TRUST that He will pull through for me, and all of us, on everything I pray for. And this FAITH I have in Him will be evident to me with every prayer He answers. Therefore, is it only fitting that I remain in a constant state of GRATITUDE for the blessings that I am in the process of receiving.

Your LOVE for us and your ability in taking responsibility for the cards life has dealt you, has kept us alive and well taken care of. I can’t help but wonder: Who is the one taking care of YOU? The one making sure you are well dressed, well fed, well cultured and pampered and ready to take on life everyday with renewed enthusiasm, again and again, with persistent, stealth-like, supernatural vigour & bravery.

I have concluded that it can only be your positive belief in God that I see is still taking you to even higher levels.

He lit your way through your darkest days. And every time you fell down, He dusted you up before putting you back on your feet and told you, “Let us try again.”

Let us try again...

He provided you with the instant wisdom from His Infinite source of Intelligence and has allowed you to leave a legacy through your “love-actions” in the form of the countless blessings He continues to make available for you.

I see God work through you like a cleansing instrument of LOVE as a remainder to the rest of us to keep the FAITH & TRUST in Him, even if there is no immediate way out, long enough to see Him produce phenomenal results for us. Long enough to see our prayers answered.

And it is due to such firsthand experiences that I am a believer.

I have come to bear witness to the unexplainable events that bring me the relief He continues to create in my life.

I see His work. And it is good.

I want to thank you for TRUSTING in His protection by giving you this book by Norman Vincent Peale, which contains real world suggested applications of principles taken from the oldest self development book I know of: The Bible.

So not only would you be thinking about His Word as you read, not only would you be preaching His Word as you praise His name with others, you will be practicing The Word through your actions. As the instrument of God’s Love you are, for the whole world to see and remember who THEY are, and who they must surrender their burdens to. And watch Him, well, Zig Ziglar says it best in how “God takes our foul ups and uses these foul ups to take us up.”

In GOD We Trust.

And I am grateful for this reminder – a reminder I am returning to you in the form of “The Power of Positive Thinking

Thank you.

I love you.

Your son,
Musa

How A Turtle Can Run Circles Around You In Slow Motion And Still Leave You Breathless

turtle finding nemo Pictures, Images and Photos
My friend had a turtle tied to the fence with a rope, which acted like a leash, roped through its shell.

Once left untied, I was told, the turtle had a tendency of having a search party looking all over for him, thanks to the neighbours in the surrounding homes within their complex, which at times took the whole day before they found the little rascal.

In amazement I lifted the little bugger and gently placed him as near to the fence it was tied to as possible so to hopefully witness the speed it took to make its gateway, only to the extent of the rope it was tied to of course.

The jailbird eventually stuck its head out, maybe realizing that the coast might be clear for another prison break, and to my amazement, even though I shouldn't have been - I mean it WAS a turtle - the little guy began taking little, turtle steps forward.

Slow, small turtle steps forward, one after another.

And here was a guy I was told that once I untie him and ignore him for less than 5 minutes, would do a Houdini on me.

But on taking a closer look, you could swear that each and every one of his steps forward were deliberate. As small as they might seem to the naked eye, this guy had the law of compounding effect on his side.

A universal law Jeff Olson brought to my attention in a book a friend borrowed me called "The Slight Edge."

You might have heard of it?

In any case, Jeff made an example of this law of compounding effect by telling a story about two sons who where asked to choose one of two forms of inheritance.

Whether they wanted to receive 1 million dollars immediate cash over 1 cent every day that doubles every day (as in 1c becomes 2c which then becomes 4c and then 8c, etc)?

The one son chose the one million, which after 30 days amounted to half a million due to the economy, staff that needed to be paid, bad debts, loans, etc.

But the son that choice the 1 cent inheritance was worth over ten million dollars ($10,737,418.24c to be precise) on day 30.

Thanks to this Universal law of compounding effect.

Activating this law of compounding effect by actively being involved in day to day activities that bring you closer and closer to your goal, is a discipline that is easy to do, and easy not to do.

Keeping in mind that once you brake the chain of your daily compounding actions you lose its power, as in skipping a day makes success long in coming to you.

Some of the daily disciplines that Jeff Olsen writes about in "The Slight Edge" include:

» reading 20 pages a day from a self help book - an empowering book that provides you with applicable principles that you can begin using today to change your life for the better;

» listening to 15 minutes of a self empowering audio every day and going to a self improvement seminar or workshop every other month.

Yes, he was inspired by the great American motivational speaker and business man Jim Rohn who also preaches these kind of disciplines in his teachings & articles, articles I receive regularly via emails from subscribing for free on this site www.JimRohn.com by the way.

Jeff delivers this all the above disciplines so to change your Philosophy - See for more http://www.topachievement.com/slightedge.html - of life.

Which, according to his multi millionaire organizations he built and the people he does workshops with & his personal experience, determines the results of how our life turns out.

Through "The Slight Edge" Jeff Olson shifted something inside of me that invites me to approach for success with just small, disciplined, persistent, consistent actions towards my goal every day. Hence this article of appreciation for his work and positive, empowering influence on me.

My success will only “easily” come to me through the use of deliberate, planned steps I take daily towards it. Through what the author of the book “The Slight Edge” calls daily disciplines and not errors in judgment repeated over time that will sabotage my success.

This book should make up part of your personal development library I am recommend you buy yourself a copy on either (affiliate recommendation) Amazon.com or attract it in one of your local bookstores.

Thank you.

I love you.

When I Say "Happy New Year" To You, I Mean It!

For this to be a happy new year (I use the words "new year" in the context of it being different from last year. We tend to celebrate even before we have conquered, I don't know whether to call it arrogance or confidence...but I'll go for the latter) one must focus on improving on last year's habits.

Habits are just a series of actions you keep repeating.

You have come to do them so frequently that they have become so familiar to you, you end up doing them unconsciously. Now they have become a part you so much that you end up defending them. They now make up your belief. You have claimed them as your own, you have tagged them as who you are.

And since in life - like Dr. Wayne Dwyer puts it, you don't attract what you want, you attract what you are - our inner beliefs ("A belief is only a thought you keep thinking." - Abraham-Hicks) manifest into our outer habits and how these habits (repetitive unconscious actions) attract things to you, it is important to change your beliefs in order for you to receive "change" in your life.

Belief then Habits which are your Actions = Results

Pat O'Bryan says it best in how your inner game has to change before your outer game changes.

One has to invite one's beliefs to change by adopting new habits.

The idea is to teach your beliefs why you are now adopting new habits - this is done through disciplines like autosuggestion in the form of:

  • visualizations,
  • affirmations,
  • frequent written statements of WHY you want to attract your goal(s),
  • meditation,
  • carrying goal cards around,
  • role playing,
  • and even this mirror technique I've just come across from the book I've been currently reading
- so that your beliefs match with the habits you are persistent in your implementation of them, which in turn calls on you to take Inspired Action that produces Deliberate Results in your life.

By action I mean those small yet deliberate actions that you do everyday which will one day (idealistically one should have a timeline - depending in which teachings you admire most) produce the results you want. i.e. Ask yourself, "If you kept on doing the things you are doing now for the next 20 years, are you going to be in the same place you are in or somewhere better?"

It's those kind of inspired actions I am taking about.

Life rewards action.

That's how anyone gets anything new in their lives, they adopt new actions to invite the news in their lives (I mean "news" in the sense of "new stuff").

So as much as I would love to say a Happy New Year to you, I just wonder if there's anything New about this Year for you to be Happy about?

But you're probably not into this personal development BS & you probably like most of us out there relying on having a "cross your fingers" approach in life. You know, relying on the luck of the draw to give you that instant jackpot prize towards the things you want out of life?

How has that been working for you?

How has the last 5 years changed for you?

Are you any closer to your goals?

Do you even HAVE goals?

How can you measure success if you do not have goals?

How can you become successful when you don't know how success looks like for you?

How would you know you have arrived?

When would you know to get excited and celebrate your success?

If you are still breathing, it is never too late to set goals for yourself and the plans, the steps you believe you need to take in order to accomplish these goals, starting right were you are right now and reaching for your goals.

Those small, easy to do, daily steps that when done with determination and consistency will make you achieve your desired chief definite goals.

Persist Until You Succeed By Brian Tracy

Persist Until You Succeed
By Brian Tracy

The most important single quality of success is self-discipline. Self-discipline is having the ability within yourself, based on your strength of character and willpower, to do what you should do when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not. Character is the ability to follow through on a resolution after the enthusiasm with which the resolution was made has passed.

Persistence is Self-Discipline in Action

Perhaps the greatest display of self-discipline is persisting when the going gets tough. Persistence is self-discipline in action. Persistence is the great measure of individual human character. Your persistence is, in fact, the true measure of your belief in yourself and your ability to succeed. Each time that you persist in the face of adversity and disappointment, you build the habit of persistence. You build pride, power, and self-esteem in your character and your personality. You become stronger and more resolute. By persisting, you become more self-disciplined. You develop within yourself the iron quality of success, the one quality that will carry you forward and over any obstacle that life can throw in your path.

Get Going and Keep Going

Orison Swett Marden wrote in his book, “There are two essential requirements for success. The first is 'go-at-it-iveness' and the second is 'stick-to-it-iveness'” Referring to the quality of persistence he wrote, “There is no failure for the man who realizes his power, who never knows when he is beaten; there is no failure for the determined endeavor, the conquerable will. There is no failure for the man who gets up every time he falls, who rebounds like a rubber ball, who persists when everyone else gives up, who pushes on when everyone else turns back.”

Persistence is Your Greatest Asset

Perhaps your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay at a task longer than anyone else. B.C. Forbes, who founded Forbes magazine and built it into a major publication during the darkest days of the Depression, wrote, “History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeat.”

Adversity is What Tests Us

Throughout history, great thinkers have reflected on this paradox and have concluded that adversity is the test that you must pass on the path to accomplishing anything worthwhile. Herodotus, the Greek philosopher, said, “Adversity has the effect of drawing out strength and qualities of a man that would have lain dormant in its absence.” The very best qualities of strength, courage, character, and persistence are brought out in you when you face your greatest challenges and when you respond to them positively and constructively.

Action Exercise

Your greatest successes almost invariably come one step beyond your greatest failures, when everything inside you says quit. Think of failures in terms of how you can make them successes.
