You first and foremost need to come to terms with the fact that if your goal is big enough, you will encounter what most call failure. But you need this "failure" because it is your feedback mechanism that, if well interpreted, will send you off in the direction that will lead you to your goal.
Success, as you might have noticed, is never assured, that is why most people never achieve the success they want in life.
What I mean by this is that it is a challenge to succeed (consistently any way) in all areas of your life.
You will never become successful unless you first understand that there is a possibility that you might be overtaken by supposed failure, as you strive for your goals.
If that is the case for you, then realize that this defeat or failure is only temporary.
I loved the line used in some cartoon I was watching by this General, who happened to have been defeated by the opposing army, when he said how that particular defeat would lead to many future victories.
It is that kind of mindset I pray that you successfully imprint in your mind after reading this article.
Why do you think so my people are contempt with being unsatisfied with living an average life, barely managing to meet life's demands?
Yeah, you will hear them complain and whine about their lot, but as to taking the necessary steps forward in the direction of what they want to achieve for themselves and their loved ones in their life, I'm afraid you would be asking too much from them.
You will never see most of them even lift a finger to improve themselves first, so that their lives can improve.
Yes, the first point of an improved life begins with you, only then would you act in accordance to your new, improved perception of life.
And you never know, maybe these people DID have a go at their goals but ran into a dead-end which derailed them - killing off their momentum.
It's just that they never saw this temporary defeat as just one way that will NOT get them to their destination, and never got back on track on working on another possible way to become successful.
As a successful individual who has taken the steps to writing down their goals and has also avoided broadcasting your intentions to the "wrong" people, you now are ready to hear the next "hidden secret" that successful people know that most don't.
That being if your goal is big enough you will come across some form of temporary failure or temporary defeat.
I know this doesn't sound wonderfully motivational but think about it this way, when you know beforehand that you will come across certain obstacles on the road you are about to take, wouldn't you be better prepared for it than if you didn't know?
That is what most of the people out there don't know, only to give up when they get to this "success obstacle" I am telling you about, not realizing that they are just three feet away from reaching their chief objective.
Your goals are meant to test you.
So when people throw their hands up in despair after meeting with some temporary defeat, and come to the conclusion that they will never be healthy, never find love, or never be financially independent, it's not surprising then to see so many people "just getting by."
It's because they don't know what I have just told you. To expect temporary obstacles blocking your way to success and to therefore be prepared for them emotionally and mentally, so that it doesn't come as a surprise to you.
You now know, even before you being, that you will encounter what most will see as failure, but you now know that you should begin to see this supposed failure as a sign that you are getting closer to your goal.
So close you can smell it!
So close you can feel it!
So close you can hear it!
So close you can touch!
So close you can taste it!
So close you can see it!
So when you begin to "fail your way into success" then you will begin to develop the mindset it takes for you to succeed in any endeavor.
"What you get by reaching your destination is not nearly as important as what you will become by reaching your destination."
And since now you know that you might encounter these failures, you are now better prepared than those who become surprised when they come across these "success alerts."
"Fortune favors the prepared mind."
You might not know exactly what failure you might come across, but you NOW know that if some form of it where to come, you are now better informed about this possibility, which can be tackled by your persistence, your creative use of your imagination, your positive & motivating associations, and your ability to go back to your written plans so that you can tweak them and come up with new alternative ways to achieve you goals.
If you "fail" at reaching your goal, you have to understand that your goal is still there, as in it hasn't moved from where it was before you began taking the steps towards reaching it.
It's like driving from Soweto to Pretoria only to find that the freeway you are traveling on is blocked due to road works. You don't then say that reaching Pretoria is impossible and give up on getting there.
You will find other ways of getting there and you will persist in your forward momentum until you finally reach your destination.
Same goes for your goals.
What is important is for YOU to FIND your way towards reaching your goal.
You have to (and you will) find a way around, through, over or under your temporary failure in order for you to eventually succeed.
"Success if the progressive realization of a worthy ideal."
So redefine your plans, talk to the right people about finding alternative ways of reaching your goal.
And persist in the face of your temporary defeat.
Promise yourself to never give up and that alone has the power to make you one of the top goal achievers in your field.
I love you.
